Hello everyone, I hope you’re safe and well in these difficult times.
I wanted to let you know about the next phase of Mindapples’ response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Last month I posted about what our commercial side is doing to keep ourselves and our clients and partners safe during this crisis, and some of the offers we’ll be making to support public mental health during the lockdown and beyond.
Now the Mindapples Charity is launching our public COVID-19 campaign – our first campaign in quite a while – to offer our tips, support and encouragement to everyone about understanding and looking after our minds. You can watch my brief introduction here.
As a society, we’ve rightly prioritised our physical health and safety by locking down our households and shuttering our businesses – but we also know this comes at a cost. Mental health services and social care are running with reduced capacity, and the pressures we’re under are making things hard for all of us. We need to support each other to stay mentally well, to build new habits, deal with uncertainty and find hope amidst grief and suffering.
We also know that we are all experiencing this crisis differently. Some of us are struggling with homeschooling our children, whilst others are missing our friends and loved ones. Some of us are adjusting to working from home whilst others are forced to go to work and put themselves at risk – or worrying about whether we have jobs to go back to.
So more than ever, we need to hear from the public during this public health crisis. We want to know what you’re doing to cope with the lockdown, what you’re looking forward to doing when things improve, and how you’d like us all to live and work together after the virus has been contained. So please let us know in the comments here, or on our videos on Youtube, on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, anywhere you can find us: let us know what you’re doing to manage your mind, and we’ll do our best to help.
We wish you good mental and physical health, please stay safe, and we will meet again.
